About FilmLookup

FilmLookup is an independent movie knowledge base. We publish plot summaries, cast guides, ending explanations, similar-film recommendations and where-to-watch guides — each one written or reviewed by a human editor.

● Editorial principles

What we will and will not do

We will credit the writer and editor on every guide with a real byline.
We will date every review. The "last updated" date is the date a human last looked at the page, not a server timestamp.
We will label spoilers with a clear `Spoiler Warning` heading before any twist or ending content.
We will not accept paid placements on any guide or list. No "sponsored" picks, no streaming-partner kickbacks.
We will not auto-generate guides with AI. Models help with research; editors write.
We will correct errors publicly. Each correction is logged on the guide.

● Methodology

How we create a guide

Watch. A film is screened in full by the writer before research begins.
Research. We consult production notes, director interviews, and at least two independent secondary sources.
Draft. A staff writer drafts each surface (plot, cast, ending, where-to-watch, similar films).
Edit + fact-check. A second editor re-checks every claim against the film and one external source.
Publish + monitor. Availability pages are re-verified weekly. Reader-flagged errors get a public correction.
